Just Woke Up

Ok have you ever had such a busy week that once you get to the weekend and someone asks what you've been up to you have absolutely no clue?! Yeah well welcome to my last 3 years of life! My husband became very ill and is recoverying thank the Lord, I've had a series of health problems/disturbances also many obsessions primarily vintage clothing, antiques, and myself I'm working on all three but mainly the last one!. I just LOVE thrift store shopping. Tuff habit to kick when everything is such a steal. I've dropped my little dream of Shadows and Illuminations for a while (I was lucky enough to have a shop sell my pieces for about a year and a half until I decided to stop) so I could have time to sleep at some point during my day. On the upside my relationship with my husband is getting deeper and deeper (love you babe!), our time growing with Tim is priceless and our home is warm and welcoming (after much running around thrifting and decorating, of course!). Joy abounds when I open my eyes and welcome the opportunity to be a servant instead of being a selfish donut as my son might say. So here I am to write and now at least giving myself a chance at remembering what my days consisted of... joys and sorrows, highs and lows, loves and hates. Soooo let's see what comes next...

True Religion

Hello all! I've finally found a brand of jeans I'm happy with. True Religion!! I haven't bought a pair of jeans in over a year and was dreading trying to find a comfy pair. It was time. My old faithfuls had begun to unravel. Anyway when I find something good I like to tell the world about it. I sometimes become a walking advertisement. This time I'm going to get it out of my system by blogging about them. There. Done. Now I can move on!

Things have been going well even though times are tough. There is always hope and joy in the air when one has an open heart for Him. Tom is still suffering from a shoulder injury which occurred in the beginning of last summer. He's in treatment for it and hopefully will be recovering within the next couple of months. He hasn't been able to pick up Tim since then and I know he misses lifting him and anything else for that matter. He also injured his knees in January and hasn't been able to walk for more than a few minutes at a time. He's in treatment for that as well and is on the road to recovery. On top of those two things he just caught the bug I had. Yeesh talk about when it rains it pours. I'm sure I'll have some happy news to report next time I blog regarding my sweet husband. Thank the Lord these injuries are not permenant!

As for me things are looking steadily up as usual. Since we've been consistently going to church I decided to join the woman's bible study. I love it. I've met more interesting, honest, down to earth women and am excited to be befriended by them. I love to have more buddies to enjoy the coast with and hear their different points of vew on life, love, etc. I really love digging into the Bible and being asked questions that really make me think. I am becoming more familiar and closer to it and hope someday to know parts by heart as I did when I was a child having to recite at chapel. It's important to have scriptures to draw from when difficulties arise. Fighting to put self aside and feeling the relief that comes with letting go. News flash we are not the ones in control here thank goodness! When people try to control others and their thoughts or situations in their lives what a mess comes of it all. Massive waste of time and energies. I could write a book on this one people!! If you know me and know who I'm talking about please remember to pray for it! Anyway I got off track there back to writing about the bible study... I look forward to that every week. I also am enjoying Tim's swim lessons. He is having lots of fun with the kids and I'm having a great time chatting with new people (we had to switch from the class we normally attend so I could go to the study). It's fun to find out what different people make up our community.

Let's see besides that we've gone to the Zoo with my mom's class and had a great time! I went to the LA Gift show with my little Mom. It was fun. I always always always have a great time with my Mom! She is the best girlfriend I've got (although I love all you other ladies madly as well!!) (: I went to Anthology this last Friday night with my girl Katie. We went and saw Fiction Family. Incredible show. Best I've been to yet!!! So fun! Oh and that reminds me I got to go to another show where he played at a local venue. Very small crowd (it was a last minute benefit show, great cause) so no one really knew about it except locals. It was fantastic! Ok, moving on... Last night was my brother's 31st birthday party. Rachel made an incredible meal (she's a great cook) and we enjoyed being with our extended family. The kids have soo much fun together running around jumping on Tom and Grandpa. I know there's tons more but my mind is growing weary. Uhmmm oh and I'll write one more thing. A company has asked to sell my silhouettes!!!! I'm ecstatic! I'm not even advertising or selling anything right at the moment since Tom's been injured. It all came about by word of mouth. Luckily, I have enough stock to be able to keep up for now. I am more than thrilled at the response I've received from the public regarding my work. So far so good!!! I'll keep you updated (:

Shadows & Illuminations

So not much to post except I had another goal crossed off my list. I love doing that. What was the goal you ask? To publish the changes I've been making to my website. Since the little show I did people have been scanning my site but there has been no way to purchase anything or much of a display of what I do. Not so now though. There is still much to be done but little by little it's coming a long. Just like life, huh?

I almost forgot...

My friend Katie won tickets to a concert and invited me to come! We saw Jars of Clay, The Family Band, Switchfoot and Third Day. Needless to say it totally rocked!!

Then a week or so later I got to see the singer Jon Foreman play at the Belly Up. There was no one there basically since it was a last minute benefit show. I got to sit at a table right in the front because I met another lady (the fudge lady.. don't ask (: ) that had braved going solo. She invited me to sit in her spot! (: Yippee, what a night! Thanks to my lovely husband that let me go on a weeknight! Luckily the venue was an exit away and way past Timmy's bedtime so all was taken care of before departing.

Ta ta!

OK Already...

So Mom you probably want to hit me it's been so long since I've posted. I find that, in life, when the most is going on (the cool stuff you always want to write about) that's the time I don't write at all. Well here is my attempt at a quick catch up (:

Anniversary

Yep Tom and I have been married for 4 years. Yeesh that went by fast! Too fast!!! Now I'm scared that the next time I look into the mirror I'll be 40 and wondering where to get my wrinkles zapped off at. Anyhow our day was the best yet. Tom came up with it all by himself. Very impressive. We packed up and headed to Julian on a weekday thank goodness. No crowds! We went to a park there had a picnic headed to town walked around (we went to the soda shop and tim enjoyed one of there gumball machines and then I walked around pioneer cemetery. It was up a lot of steps so I just ran up real quick... what! That stuff is interesting(: then we went apple picking. So much fun and really yummy. On the way home we stopped and stocked up on pumpkins. Tim rode in one of their wagons and got to pet lots of animals. It was the best day ever!

Austin

We went for a couple of days to Austin to visit Tom's sister and brother in law. It was an amazing city with great BBQ! Tim had lots of fun except for having the runs. Boy is he going to kill me when he gets older and reads this stuff. He was great on the plane rides which I always dread. Thank goodness he proves me wrong most of the time!

Phoenix

Then Tim and I tagged along with Tom on his business trip to Phoenix. I was sick most of the time but dared myself to go out alone (well with tim) and not be scared. Tim and I got to see some relatives which was great and explore on our own as well. The last day we were there we went to a place called Rawhide. It is a little amusement park that's a ghost town. We loved it and had a blast though the heat was incredable! Tim ran after the donkey's that were being ridden down the street and I took about a million pics of us in the town. Tim is in his whole I love closing doors stage so when we got to the jail he closed the door on the little girls hanging in the cell. They cried but whatever he had fun!

Sedona

After phoenix we packed up and headed for Sedona. Tom and I were totally impressed!! It was like nothing I'd ever seen. The color of the rocks and their formations were so beautiful. And don't get me started on the sunset. We had a great time there just driving around. The second day we went to Rock slide park which has a natural creek that you can swim in and get carried down and 80 foot slide like area. I don't know how to describe it but a lot of westerns had been shot there. It was incredible. On the way back to the car we got some hot cider and then headed to go on our hummer tour. That was way cool and Tim luckily did great even though it was an offroading bumpy ride. Lots of fun!

Halloween Game Day

Ok phew my fingers are getting tired. Ok so this went great. I got to play with dry ice and decorated my house all spooky which I love. I'll get some pics up of this and the other places sometime (soon?). My mom saved the day and baked everything which saved me a heart attack (: Thanks mom!!!!

Day before Halloween

Tim and I went to Tom's work to go trick or treating. Daddy got to show him off in his cool Popeye costume complete with a spinach can and corn cob pipe! We had lots of fun with Daddy!!!

Halloween

Yay we went to Grandma and Grandpa's for a Halloween Party!!! The decor was amazing and Tim had a great time with his little light up toy (which he is still playing with). We played games, bobbing for apples, pin the nose on the pumpkin and hot potato (but with a pumpkin). My mom totally robbed me of winning the last game.

OH NO! Tim is crying gotta go! To be continued!!!!!

Another First

Today was the day. Tim had grown some long wings right behind his ears. His hair had never rubbed off in those spots so it has been much longer than the rest of his hair for a long long time. It was hard in a way because I've been told that once you make that first cut the baby hair is gone forever. I can accept that, although I did keep his little locks and put them in a special keepsake container (: I did a rather swell job even if I do have to say so myself. Tim is one handsome little toddler!!!!

Yesterday's Today

Yesterdays Today.... I woke up around 5 am put on my heavy jacket, hat, gloves and scarf (hey I know we live in California but it gets COLD leaving for work well before 6 am when you drive a 71 VW bug with no heat!!) and headed to work. I turned on the radio and heard a live report being giving on the disaster going on in NY. I thought maybe it was a fictional story and checked the station again. I was in disbelief till I arrived at work and continued to listen to reports with a few other coworkers that shared my same shift. I just remember being very frightened for my dad. I thought they'd go after the military bases but that wasn't the case, thank goodness.

Today... I woke up to Timmy crying.. translated "mommy I'm ready to begin my day". I scooped him up along with a pile of poop that had exploded out the back side of his diaper. Yeah a lot has changed but definitely for the better. I love my life!!!
