I almost forgot...

My friend Katie won tickets to a concert and invited me to come! We saw Jars of Clay, The Family Band, Switchfoot and Third Day. Needless to say it totally rocked!!

Then a week or so later I got to see the singer Jon Foreman play at the Belly Up. There was no one there basically since it was a last minute benefit show. I got to sit at a table right in the front because I met another lady (the fudge lady.. don't ask (: ) that had braved going solo. She invited me to sit in her spot! (: Yippee, what a night! Thanks to my lovely husband that let me go on a weeknight! Luckily the venue was an exit away and way past Timmy's bedtime so all was taken care of before departing.

Ta ta!

OK Already...

So Mom you probably want to hit me it's been so long since I've posted. I find that, in life, when the most is going on (the cool stuff you always want to write about) that's the time I don't write at all. Well here is my attempt at a quick catch up (:

Anniversary

Yep Tom and I have been married for 4 years. Yeesh that went by fast! Too fast!!! Now I'm scared that the next time I look into the mirror I'll be 40 and wondering where to get my wrinkles zapped off at. Anyhow our day was the best yet. Tom came up with it all by himself. Very impressive. We packed up and headed to Julian on a weekday thank goodness. No crowds! We went to a park there had a picnic headed to town walked around (we went to the soda shop and tim enjoyed one of there gumball machines and then I walked around pioneer cemetery. It was up a lot of steps so I just ran up real quick... what! That stuff is interesting(: then we went apple picking. So much fun and really yummy. On the way home we stopped and stocked up on pumpkins. Tim rode in one of their wagons and got to pet lots of animals. It was the best day ever!

Austin

We went for a couple of days to Austin to visit Tom's sister and brother in law. It was an amazing city with great BBQ! Tim had lots of fun except for having the runs. Boy is he going to kill me when he gets older and reads this stuff. He was great on the plane rides which I always dread. Thank goodness he proves me wrong most of the time!

Phoenix

Then Tim and I tagged along with Tom on his business trip to Phoenix. I was sick most of the time but dared myself to go out alone (well with tim) and not be scared. Tim and I got to see some relatives which was great and explore on our own as well. The last day we were there we went to a place called Rawhide. It is a little amusement park that's a ghost town. We loved it and had a blast though the heat was incredable! Tim ran after the donkey's that were being ridden down the street and I took about a million pics of us in the town. Tim is in his whole I love closing doors stage so when we got to the jail he closed the door on the little girls hanging in the cell. They cried but whatever he had fun!

Sedona

After phoenix we packed up and headed for Sedona. Tom and I were totally impressed!! It was like nothing I'd ever seen. The color of the rocks and their formations were so beautiful. And don't get me started on the sunset. We had a great time there just driving around. The second day we went to Rock slide park which has a natural creek that you can swim in and get carried down and 80 foot slide like area. I don't know how to describe it but a lot of westerns had been shot there. It was incredible. On the way back to the car we got some hot cider and then headed to go on our hummer tour. That was way cool and Tim luckily did great even though it was an offroading bumpy ride. Lots of fun!

Halloween Game Day

Ok phew my fingers are getting tired. Ok so this went great. I got to play with dry ice and decorated my house all spooky which I love. I'll get some pics up of this and the other places sometime (soon?). My mom saved the day and baked everything which saved me a heart attack (: Thanks mom!!!!

Day before Halloween

Tim and I went to Tom's work to go trick or treating. Daddy got to show him off in his cool Popeye costume complete with a spinach can and corn cob pipe! We had lots of fun with Daddy!!!

Halloween

Yay we went to Grandma and Grandpa's for a Halloween Party!!! The decor was amazing and Tim had a great time with his little light up toy (which he is still playing with). We played games, bobbing for apples, pin the nose on the pumpkin and hot potato (but with a pumpkin). My mom totally robbed me of winning the last game.

OH NO! Tim is crying gotta go! To be continued!!!!!

Another First

Today was the day. Tim had grown some long wings right behind his ears. His hair had never rubbed off in those spots so it has been much longer than the rest of his hair for a long long time. It was hard in a way because I've been told that once you make that first cut the baby hair is gone forever. I can accept that, although I did keep his little locks and put them in a special keepsake container (: I did a rather swell job even if I do have to say so myself. Tim is one handsome little toddler!!!!

Yesterday's Today

Yesterdays Today.... I woke up around 5 am put on my heavy jacket, hat, gloves and scarf (hey I know we live in California but it gets COLD leaving for work well before 6 am when you drive a 71 VW bug with no heat!!) and headed to work. I turned on the radio and heard a live report being giving on the disaster going on in NY. I thought maybe it was a fictional story and checked the station again. I was in disbelief till I arrived at work and continued to listen to reports with a few other coworkers that shared my same shift. I just remember being very frightened for my dad. I thought they'd go after the military bases but that wasn't the case, thank goodness.

Today... I woke up to Timmy crying.. translated "mommy I'm ready to begin my day". I scooped him up along with a pile of poop that had exploded out the back side of his diaper. Yeah a lot has changed but definitely for the better. I love my life!!!

Change is good!

All I gotta say is "change is good!" Well... that's not really ALL I've gotta say... What has changed with me, you might ask. Just the layout of my house and boy does it make a difference. Tim is walking now and deserves the freedom of enjoying his home on his own sooo a few changes had to be made to make that possible. Little did I know that doing so would make me love my home even more than before. I pushed the couch over to the window and brought our bedroom rug in for Tim to play on. I used the rest of my birthday money to get a toy box for Tim and a 5 tier bookcase for our living room. If I could I'd turn almost all of our walls into bookcases. I love books!! Needless to say Tim is having a blast with his new found freedom. He giggles as he waddles from room to room and Tom and I love watching him.

Quick ketchup.... (:
Saturday night we met our friends (the Chandlier family) at the Greek festival down the street from us on Manchester. Tom and I have gone every year since moving to encinitas we've adopted it as being one of our "little" family traditions. This was Tim's 2nd time. We had lot's of fun eating and watching the dancing. Ok, that's all for now gotta run!

Consistency

I'm really going to try to be more consistant with my blogs. So many awesome days go by and I'd hate for them to be forgotten. So here I go.... Today Tim and I headed off to his swimming lesson in San Marcos. According to his teacher, Tami, he is getting better and better(of course, he's brilliant)! Now that he is walking he just wants to go up and down the steps, smile at the other kids, and show them what toy he is playing with. Too cute!! After swim we headed to Target to see if we could find a toy chest for the family room and sure enough there was the one my sister in law told me about. Thank goodness! I couldn't wait to assemble it. It'll be great to scoop up all those toys and pop them into that chest. Once we headed home I had to stop for gas and guess who we saw.. Jon from Switchfoot getting gas for his tour van. Pretty cool. Anyhow that brings back memories from my high school years and of my sister in law. That was the first time I hung out with her. My brother brought me, her and some other chick to Cane's. Switchfoot was opening up for Third Day. I had such a good time and was glad Jim had his eye on Rachel and not that other gal. Yikes, that would have been scary if it had been the other way around. Guess you'd have to of been there (:

Heart to Heart

Well it's been a while since I've written and of course tons of things have been happening. Too much for me to try to catch up this blog on so I'll dish what's been going on currently.

Dad had his ever impending heart surgery on Monday. I was terrified but knew it was out of my hands. I'd been praying for him and his surgeon for quite some time as were many others (thank goodness!). His surgery went great and he even got down much earlier than expected. Later Dad told me his surgeon said he was boring nothing unexpected happened. Boy are we glad he was boring let me tell you! Tom is in Croatia this week so Tim and I headed down to Balboa to visit him. It was scary to see him with all those tubes but such a relief to know that he has made it (: Today (the second day after surgery) he looked even better and was talking. I was amazed to be told he had been walking around already. WOW!

I love him a lot. He's been an awesome Dad and I don't know what I would do without him. Luckily, I don't have to worry about that now.

Anyhow I'm just feeling really lucky and bless that God took care of him so well.

What a Thrill

At my lesson last Friday I did something I have wanted to do for years. I jumped my first course!!! Seven jumps in all, not too tall, just over a foot high but not bad for my third lesson in jumping. It was amazing and I can't wait to learn more more more and jump higher and higher and higher! My teacher said I'm a natural (: After my lesson we went out on a trail ride and gabbed. I learned a lot about her and am convinced God pointed me to her. Cross country courses here I come!

1st Family Vacation!

So we had our first official family vacation! We took off Thursday morning to Monterey to spend the first half of our vaca and then stayed in Cambria for the rest of the time. It was beautiful. We saw tons of the coast (I have been up the coast a few times before meeting Tom but never stopped at these two cities) and checked out Hearst Castle sooo amazing! We planned everything so we didn't have to rush and could just enjoy the time we had together. It's the first time we planned everything around relaxing. We liked it so much that that's how we hope to plan every vaca in the future. No point in stressing, the whole point of a getaway is not to stress, right? (: Tim was an absolute angel. He didn't cry or get angry that he was in the car for 9 hours. God definitely sent us the right kid!!! Getting home is always the best, though. No matter where we travel we are always so grateful for our home and where we live. There is no place better in our eyes.

Back in the saddle again!

Well, I meant to write about this on Friday night but there just weren't enough hours left to do so. I got my first real english riding lesson (I went on a few intermediate trail rides before this due to the arena being drowned out by rain) in on Friday night while Tim was at swim with Dad. I love how excited I get riding and how positive my teacher is. She had me do a double jump by the end of the lesson and said she saw a great future for me as a jumper. I've been dying to start jumping ever since I was a little girl obsessed with National Velvet. I must have drove my mother nuts with how many times I watched it. All in all it's great to be riding again. I've missed the "good old days" when I had my own two horses (Brandy and Maverick) and I'd throw a saddle on (or not) and just go have some fun!

A First

So I've been lurking in the shadows reading all my little friends/ families blogs and secretly wishing I had my own. Today I finally decided to stop wishing and just do it! So here I am. I plan to be as consistant as possible considering how busy life can get. I hope this helps keep my treasured friends and family updated and closer to me than ever. Oh I hear my little man crying gotta go!
